After completing Cairo hands-on 6 days surgical course on live patients, the participant will be able to:

  • Practice surgical flap, tissue retraction, osteotomes, suturing and pain control
  • Practice crestal sinus lift
  • Practice ridge expansion
  • Practice full arch implant placements (Level 2)


LEVEL 1 • $6,500

  • Implants placement from basic to
    advanced level

Pre-requisites: Have placed a few implants or never placed an implant before. Basic suturing and extractions are necessary


LEVEL 2 • $8,500
"ADVANCED"

  • Full mouth implant placement
  • PRF technique and procedure
  • Sinus lifts and ridge splits
  • Ridge Grafting
  • 1 week tour in Cairo


Pre-requisites: Placing more implants (>50) and restorations currently. Interested in advancing technique and procedures into full mouth implants, sinus lifts, complex grafting, ridge preservation.

  • Can ALL types of gingival recessions be covered?
  • Can ANY implant surface coverage with recessions be achieved successfully?
  • Each participant will perform live gingival procedure on patients (FGG & CT graft)
  • What are other reasons to do connective tissue grafts, even with no recessions?
  • When should you use connective tissue grafts and when should you use a free gingival graft?
  • What are the harvesting techniques of connective tissue grafts (5 techniques)?
  • Which donor site is best for connective tissue graft?
  • Best suturing techniques to stabilize the graft and minimize patient discomfort.
  • Of all this, which technique do we recommend you use?
  • How to manage the donor site? How to reduce pain, bleeding and improve patient acceptance?
  • What are the most predictable alternatives to using patients' own tissue?
  • What is the role of biologics in improving my treatment outcome? Is it just a hoax?

Meet The Lecturer

Dr. Ihab M. Hanna GP

Dr. Andrea Ravida

DDS, MS

Dr. Andrea Ravidà is the Program Director of the Periodontics department at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed the periodontal specialty training in Graduate Periodontics at the University of Michigan and the PhD at the University of Granada. He has been teaching as a full-time clinical faculty at the University of Michigan in the 2021-2022 academic year. He teaches topics related to periodontal/implant disease and implant therapy to graduate periodontal residents in the clinics and the classroom. He also conducts clinical research focusing on peri-implantitis, periodontitis, and short implants.

Dr. Andrea Ravidà published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles and conference abstracts/presentations related to periodontics and implant therapy. He is section editor of the International Journal of Oral Implantology and the Journal of Translational Medicine. He serves as a reviewer and on the editorial board for multiple international journals covering periodontics and implant dentistry. He received several other awards from the nation’s authority in periodontics and implantology (American Academy of Periodontology and Academy of Osseointegration) including the Schoor Research Award in 2020, the Educator Scholarship (2021), and the William Laney Award (2020).
